    Thanks for posting those parts of the war diary Drew, very interesting read. How can I get hold of a copy/see more of them? I’m planning a trip next year and trying to follow their footsteps up to Arnhem. I did it this year with my father in law following the 11th (PAO) Hussars, his father fought from d-day+2, and we used their war diary to plan the trip.

    Am brand new Member...stumbled across your disscuton re 4th Dorsets at Arnhem. My father Leslie Charles Smith was , I think , A SM with 4th Field Ambulance attached to Dorsets /43rd Wessex Div. His Unit was tasked with helping to get 1st Airborne survivors back over the Nejer Rhine . His description of the confusion and conditions in the dark were horrific. His men waded out , roped together to pull in naked freezing Paras and those who were sent to their rescue. They were all heroes. Anyone got more info ?
