POW Camp Abbreviation Meaning

    Hi All,
    I was wondering if anyone knows what POW camp the abbreviation 'MA' is referring to? I would imagine somewhere in Sumatra because the person in question was involved in the construction of the Sumatra Railway but it would be nice to know the exact camp of liberation.
    Any help would be great, cheers!

    Hi George, ‘MA’ means Malaya.

    George, Ma merely means Malai which includes all Malaya, Singapore, and Sumatra. His liberation questionnaire is available on COFEPOW showing his camps and ends with Pakan Baru Area.

    Thanks both for the clarification, much appreciated. I had initially just wondered if the MA referred to a specific camp in the Pakan Baru area.
