Polish woman's headcovering? No it's German

This piece of material was made to cover the hair, similar to a nun's wimple. The story behind it is that a group of girls/women taken prisoner by the Germans were in turn captured by the British and brought to the UK. Here they worked for a while in a hospital. They spoke no English and were presumed to be Polish or other Eastern Europeans. A nurse working in the hospital was given this by one of the women before she left.

Can anybody identify the symbol/initials on this headcovering?

    Thanks.

I have lived in Poland for 25.5 years and never seen anything like that here. I work at the Institute of National Remembrance - can ask if anyone has seen such a thing.

Exactly what my colleague found. "The NS - Sisterhood as a National Socialist order. It was organised according to the mother-house principle (but without celibacy) and anchored in a pseudo-religious belief in race, leaders and the national community. This was the basis of their professional ethos and elite consciousness (ideology)."

Not Polish or E. European, rather those who would have conquered them.
