My father Jai Singh(No. 3347146 4th Sikh Regiment) of Indian British Army as Prisoner of War(WW2) had escaped from captivity in Italy and stayed with Some Italian Family along with another Indian soldier KAKA SINGH for many days (probably around 1942-1943) before both of them again joined their troops there. I am interested in of any pics or other information of these turbanised(with head gear) Sikh solders in ITALY and the courteous Italian family which gave shelter and food for them!

I don't have much in the way of Sikh photographs that are not already on one of the other British Indian Army photo threads, but here is a newish one taken from the "Finito" pamphlet, the American take on the Po valley campaign.

the battle referred to would be the Argenta gap.

Photos of Clark inspecting his multi national army do not always reflect his true feelings. He staged a parade of soldiers from the different nationalities in 15th Army group for Marshall, who complimented him on his command. Clark had meant the demonstration to show how hopeless his task was commanding non US troops.
