The location is going to be difficult to pin down. Those bay-fronted late 1920s semi-detached houses are ubiqitous in England with little or no variation in regional styles or materials. Is there any chance that you could zoom in and scan the street-name board in line with his left elbow at a higher resolution ? If we could read that then it would narrow things down enormously. Generally speaking the Canadians were in the South-East of England. I'm sure that someone will recognise his cap badge. It looks to be the same on both the pre-war image in Service Dress and the later photograph in Battledress / Field Service Cap.

Have you looked them up on CWGC? There may be some clues on the website about them Post their names and someone will check for you
OK I give up, I have no clue as to that cap badge. AS you know his name & date of birth are you able to get his service recors from the Canadian Archives ?
Miss History the Prince Edward and Hastings is based in Belleville Ontario the Armoury there is an imposing red brick structure which, I thought could be the one in the first picture; however I doubt it now. the 'Plow Jockeys or 'Hasty Pees' went on to great battle Honours with the 1st Canadian Infantry Division and 1st Canadian Infantry Brigade. They were know as the "Red Patch Devils" by the German Paras (after the Hasty Pees climbed the cliffs of Assoro in the dark to flank its defenders). If he was with them there is quite a bit written about them as Farley Mowat was also with the regiment. As Owen mentioned the badge is quite indiscernible. I was thinking it could be an Ordnance Corp or RCEME. Good Luck Matt
I think you have it. Looking at their cap badge & collar dog. Yes ,I know this has Queen's crown. http://www.williamscully.ca/gallery/Cap-Badges/Hastings_And_Prince_Edward_Regiment
