All, I've seen various aerial photos from Op. Market that cover a lot of the LZ's but there doesn't seem to be anything that covers LZ "L" - at least that I can find. Do any exist? I'm looking into an account of a glider that was making for LZ "L" on the 19th but was forced to put down early and came to rest just short of the LZ near the railway line. I was sure if there were any clear shots of the area that might show the glider in question.
HT, I couldn't find any aerials showing LZ L in full on September 19th. There is a run on NCAP that catches the top of the LZ - see bottom of page under aerials for Wolfhezerbrug and Westerheide. http://ncap.org.uk/search/archive/6-1-1-21?free-text=yes#free-text=yes&zoom=4&lat=6816515.10012&lon=576588.15246&layers=BT A squadron with US 7 GR captures the area on the 17th and 18th but have yet to discover anything by them afterwards. One from the 18th shows the LZ has been marked in anticipation for the arrival of gliders the next day. This collection is probably familiar to you. I may have missed aerials showing LZ L in the months following. http://www.wwii-photos-maps.com/aerialnetherlands/index.html Not relevant but an interesting shot of what became of the gliders by February 1945 in a section of nearby LZ S.
