In 2001, the Royal Navy Submarine Museum issued a limited run two volume history of British and Allied Submarine Operations in World War II. It was written by Vice Admiral Sir Arthur Hezlet KBE CB DSO* DSC and only 200 copies were printed. However they've posted the whole thing on line with free access: Index 2 The amount of data is amazing. As well as a history, maps, charts and deployment histories, patrol routes and pictures are available. The appendices alone are worth pouring over. If you have even a remote interest in British submarines, bookmark the site and spend some time investigating.
Another excellent reference on individual British subs is U-Boat.net. Detailed info on daily movements and for each patrol a zoomable map showing the routes.
