(English not my first language.) Owen: "SB" signifying ? (Even googling didn't help...) Gage: Where can I read more about Kenneth Lee's ordeal? None of my BOB books mention him. I know he was a sqn commander, but that's about it. Kind regards and keep up your enthusiastic sharing of knowledge S

Hello all, Thank you for friendly and including welcome introductions. blacksnake: I'm still in the dark with respect to the "carrots". Please enlighten me. wtid45: Military, yes. US, no. (English not my first language.) DG was interesting for a while but also guess what; petrifyingly cold in winter conditions and/or at higher altitudes... Owen: "SB" signifying ? (Even googling didn't help...) Gage: Where can I read more about Kenneth Lee's ordeal? None of my BOB books mention him. I know he was a sqn commander, but that's about it. Kind regards and keep up your enthusiastic sharing of knowledge S (Yes, I decided to censor my Avatar before somebody else did - initially failed to realise it was so easy to identify) Stormbird, When Owen mentioned SB he was using a shortened version of your username. And Blacksmith was referring to "dangling a carrot" its a saying in English which means to hold out a small amount of useful or wanted information and to keep the person guessing as to the full picture.

OK folks, And thanks for having enlightened me. Today I have at least learned something new about carrots - AND enriched my English. S
Have you done any multi-national work recently out in Afghanistan? You may have come across a mate of mine still pushing a 6 month tour out there the last I heard. He's a SSgt in 657 Sqn AAC with the same job as you. Part of his name and nickname make up a famous golfer. He also has a sense of humour apparently! Cheers Andy

Stormbird in German is one of the names of Me 262, but I suppose it is a wrong clue to follow? Welcome SB.
Hello all, Gage: Where can I read more about Kenneth Lee's ordeal? None of my BOB books mention him. I know he was a sqn commander, but that's about it. Try 'The Hardest Day' by Dr. Alfred Price. You won't read a better book on the battle although it only focuses on one day.
It is quite a piece on your profile photo SB. What is it? For what its worth: US flight suit, looks like Dutch boots though, M134 minigun with a PEQ4 laser, Dutch crewman I think.
