This bunker, used until recently as a Hotel named "Zum Tuerken" The Turk
    strange name for this place.

It was on the market for 3.65 Million Euro and purchased by an unknown family from Bertesgaden. The future usage is open, but all involved do not want certain groups of people misusing it.

Hotel Tuerken looked to be a nice hotel when I visited the area in 2001.

It was requisitioned by Bormann prewar as a compulsory purchase at below market value at a time when his was building up Hitler's alpine residence and forcing local inhabitants off the Obersalzberg..All of Hitler's inner circle except Goebbels had elaborate properties built on premises stolen from the villagers.

Bormann built Kehlsteinhaus ...Eagles Nest as some refer to it at a tremendous capital outlay. It was a present to Hitler for his 50th birthday in April 1939.Hitler however was not conducive to experiencing heights and it is recorded only visited the teahouse 13 times, Eva liked the place because she could sun bathe away from prying eyes. Apparently Bormann used the place to host his various women he had in tow.

The hotel was the HQ of the SS guarding the Obersalzberg and has an elaborate system of tunnels running from it. As I remember there is still a one man concrete conical type guard shelter existing at the hotel courtyard entrance....must have been a cold duty for the detailed sentry during the harsh winters.

I think the family who are selling the hotel are the original owners from prewar days who immediately bought back the place after the war.
