I was wondering if anyone here could recommend me a Infantry Soldier memoir in the North African Campaign. I Read ones by British and American Soldier's who fought in Europe from Italy to Germany and US Marines fighting from Guadalcanal to Okinawa in the Pacific. Starting to read one about Burma but still haven't been able to find one in North Africa. I been able to find ones by tank crews, artillery, SAS and combat correspondents but none by Infantryman.

A personal favourite is John Horsfall's account, 'The Wild Geese are Flighting' - when he was OC of D Coy, 1st Bn. Royal Irish Fusiliers from the time the battalion left Liverpool bound for Algeria in November 1942 and their six months of fighting with 1st Army in Tunisia - he wrote three outstanding books about his experiences in France in 1939/40, in the UK and Tunisia in 1942/43 and in Italy in1944/45.
