    Dear All,

apparently this has been available since Q4 2018 but I stumbled upon it yesterday by accident. Made by a 100 year old model company called Silver Crest Models, based in Northamptonshire (where Basset-Lowke were also based), they have made Steam trains up until now. The Churchill is their first vehicle and they also have a Russian Katyusha Truck in development.

    Their website is here:

    Pricing for the Churchill is:

So, my own take on this is that wow, it's huge, it's Green, It's British and it is most welcome to see! My only concern is that there appears to be a bit of 'Blackbox-ian' tendency to use stamped metal in place of detail and it might be best if we got them over here and had a chat with them about making the bare bones and pulling on existing detail meisters in the hobby (Dave Dibss, cough, cough) to supply the bits they can't do.

There appears to be something off about the lines, I can't quite put my finger on it but something doesn't look right to me, or, maybe it's just the angle of the photographs; when time permits, I shall have to pore over the Gallery pics with a couple of well chosen text books at my elbow.

They seem to be making these in China and to be honest I'd much prefer to see development and manufacture happening here in the UK. Surely we can do it as cheap as China now and keep better control of the quality, spare parts, distribution etc.

Some of the detail etc is lacking, suspect due to manufacturer's inexperience with AFVs.

Also notable markings are a bit iffy.

    For £5k, that's disappointing.
