Eugene Welcome, my main interest is the activities of 21 Army Group post VE Day but I do have a couple of snippets of information which may help in your research The 4/7 DG were part of 8 Independent Armoured Brigade who ended the War in the Cuxhaven Peninsular in support of 51st Highland Division under command the British 30 Corps Similarly the 1st Hussars were part of the Canadian 2nd Independent Armoured Brigade of the 2nd Canadian Corps. They were in the area of the village of Estervegen south east of the town of Emden at the time of the German Surrender in early May 1945. I would strongly recommend that you visit the National Archives in Kew if you can. The War Diaries for both Regiments held there should provide the information you are looking for. The Diary for the 4/7 DG is in the WO 171 Series, that for 1H in the WO 179 Series
