I am asking for those with Ancestry or similar accounts if they can assist in providing some information on these men.

This will possibly allow others to participate and gather burial photos once the details are known.

Those not referenced with a country will be RAF and are most likely to have died in the UK.

Require date of death, burial details and grave photos of all of those 617sq Dambusters who survived THE DAMS RAID.

This is the link to the other thread where much detail has been gathered however this edited thread will make it easier to see what further information is required.

    http://ww2talk.com/forums/topic/13870-dambusters-can-you-help-us-find-their-final-resting-place-and-headstones/?p=155091

I apologise in advance if any previous information provided has not been included. Please let me know.

    Cheers

    Geoff

Best I can do for now, Geoff. Just killed a 12 hour work night.

I have the files of some of the Canadians as an author in the UK asked me to pull them for an upcoming book. I'll go through them later and add anything I missed here.

    Cheers,

    Dave

P/O Anthony Fisher Burcher (DFM) Australia POW Died Aug 1995 (Cremated 9/8/1995) - O21979 (403182) RAAF

No exact date of death or burial details

If you hadn't put up the died / cremated note I would have opined that he was still alive.

His nominal roll entry showed that he stayed in the RAAF long enough to get a post-war sequence service number (discharged 1952). He was a North Sydney boy but I couldn't find a hit for him in the Ryerson Index, which started cataloguing death notices etc in NSW and branched out to other states. It is pretty complete and I would have presumed that his passing would have made it into the newspapers.

No hits in the Australian Cemeteries Index either - not unusual for a private cremation though.

Where did the died / cremated info come from??
