    Dear All,

I am currently researching a project about the murders of Neville Heath, an ex RAF Officer, who killed two young women in 1946.

I am very keen to examine the lives of two of the women involved in the case who were both WRNS and I wonder if anybody has information about them? The two women concerned are Doreen Margaret Marshall of Pinner and Yvonne Symonds of Worthing. Any assistance would be gratefully received.

    Best wishes,

    Sean O'Connor

    Dear Lee,

Yes, thanks, I've consulted those. I'm specifically interested in the toe young women's time in the WRNS and that's not documented.

    Best wishes,

    Sean

    Hello Sean

    Welcome to the forum.

I do record female war casualties but I do not have any record of an Yvonne Symonds in any female service and she does not appear on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Debt of Honour Register. Where did you get your info from?

I do understand from the Wikapedia web site on Neville Heath that Yvonne was an actress but beyond that no other personal details of either of the two girls.

Will keep you posted if I do find out anything.

    Sean,

Also worth a try is perhaps submitting a request for a copy of their service records as they died in service: Ministry of Defence | About Defence | What we do | Personnel | Service Records | Making a Request for Information held on the Personnel Records of Deceased Service Personnel

But it would cost £30.00 for each and there's a long wait of nearly a year for the information to be supplied.

Have you also checked their local newspapers? As Marshall was from Pinner, there might be information about her in the Hillingdon Gazette (I think this is available from Uxbridge main library if I remember correctly).

    All the best,

    Lee

I found a website that has all murderers listed and Heath's report was long explaining his history and he appeared to be a really nasty sadistic person, especially so when you read what he did to the two women that he killed.

    Murder in the UK :(
