The village of Eecke was a transport/logistics hub for the Artillery Regiments at Cassel during the epic fighting there May 25-30th 1940. If you type Eecke into the Search Box function of my 140th Field Regiment RA website 140th (5th London) Army Field Regiment, Royal Artillery – Their story between the 10th and 31st May 1940 you'll find some references to the village there.

A number of the tiny number of escapees to Dunkirk from 367 Battery 140 Rgt RA (e.g. Major Roddy Hawes) were probably in or around Eecke at the time of the final German advances around 28-29th May 1940.

Also from the 140 Rgt website:
'Three Field Ambulance units of the 44th (Home Counties) Division were also positioned near to Cassel at the village of Eecke; their Field Ambulance HQ was in a Monastery in the nearby Mont Des Cats'.

Glad that you posted these links as I often take look at your website. It crops up quite frequently in searches regarding Royal Artillery or BEF/Dunkirk.
Has it not been around in different forms for a few years, gradually improving as you progress. it is very informative but takes time to view to do it justice.
I was close to adding it to this thread but as I could see no reference to the names of the Anti-Tank Regiments at the beginning I chickened out.
Nice to know that you inhabit the forum.
