My M91/30 Russian Mosin Nagant dated 1942

    This is my original WW2 Era Rifle. It’s the classic Mosin Nagant. It’s dated 1942. Bayonet is original, ammo pouch is post war. I’m unsure if it were used in battle or not.

    Is there any difference between a Soviet made M91 & a Finnish one beyond the markings ?

    We saw lots of them on holiday & they all looked the same to me.

    Arrow in triangle = Mosin factory in Izhevsk
    About three times more of these were produced during the war than in the Tula factory.
    The serial number prefix PX seems a bit odd to me, but that doesn't mean anything.
    Year of manufacture 1942 almost certainly means that it was used in some form in the war.
    (At that time there were far more soldiers than rifles available).
