There's a couple of members on here that maybe able to help with records in Germany. You may want to change the title to something like 'Seeking Info on German POW' to attract more members :)

It is ATB Issue No 17.The article is entitled,"German POWs in England"

Go to www.afterthebattle.com. You may still be able to purchase a copy.

Just an added note, the bulk of German POWs were released from captivity in 1947/1948

I see from island Farm that Glen Mill on Wellyhole street was the very first 'other Ranks' camp in the UK, and by the following story wasn't always so peaceful a camp (though I'm a little doubtful about the account as it mentions Germans making a home run, and as far as I know this was only achieved by an extremely small contingent of Germans held in the UK, possibly even just one or two chaps if memory serves):
The Wartime Memories Project- Glen Mill POW Camp

Some good solid stuff on Glen Mill (9 pages of .pdf with internal photographs), here:

And one lady that'll obviously never forget the place:

    Good luck,

Well done Rick...Keep us posted !

I can't think of much else you can do until you can confirm what ship he was on etc.
