I've been thinking.....well, asked to start thinking, as to where all my books are going eventually, or if I go under a bus all of a sudden!! It's a fair question as they take a lot of dusting. :)

You might donate them to a charity or similar. The non-WWII books Patrick had collected went to a veterans' frat for a fund raising book sale.

Thanks OP. I need them all for the time being for reference when Chindit-related families come calling, but I will keep your advice in mind. When my website was archived by the British Library a while back, their contact asked me about my book collection, so that might also be an avenue to explore. I guess with all these things....it is all about shelf space at the end of the day.

Yeah, I tried loading my collection in an Equinox. It's a front wheel drive vehicle. The front wheels were barely on the ground after the load. Time for Plan B.

You needed a Suburban by the sound of it!

    Equinox, no backseat.

BTW, loading the books between the front and rear wheels solved the "wheelie" issue. Tires looked a little funny, however.

This beast is now available here and here. Nice but pricey hardback version here.

Bought this today based on a recommendation by Red Jim, Accidental Warrior by Geoffrey Picot.

Yesterday I had a bit of a Richie Benaud splurge, as Sue and I had been reminiscing about him, having watched a clip of him discussing the infamous Ian Chappell underarm incident in 1981.

Richie was scathing of Chappell’s actions and it reminded me just what a wonderful commentator he was - honest, fair, unbiased and that great voice. Sorely missed!

So I got a “few” of his books. I guess there may be some repetition among them, but so what, the man was an absolute legend.

    That clip, by the way:

I was quite pleased to get the last book for this set..
next up is the Hunnicutt set. And then a set I saw online of Czechoslovak arms sales from the 1948-1989 era. (it looks interesting)
