I agree. I felt when reading it there were preconceptions creeping into the book.

 

Sorry Jim, nothing mentioned. The book has the stories of just nine incidents of aircraft ditching, so I guess the chances of Seymour’s being the subject of one of those nine were slim.

Has Royal Mail done another cash-grab?

The international postage costs from all my regular booksellers—and eBay—seem to have jumped up this week.

 

Exchange rates maybe?

A right royal pain whatever proves to have caused the increases for you Charley.

Will they go down ever? Likely not I guess.

The exchange rate is currently bad from my perspective, but I'm looking at prices in sterling.

Edit: Yes, prices went up 6 October. And there's a 'peak surcharge' coming up in November for those who post stuff when the mail is busy!

Can we just let Amazon handle it from now on?

 

I have had 4 books "lost" by third party vendors in the last year or so.
they mark them as "sent" and then magically they never arrive... which means 3-4 email exchanges with Amazon to get my money back and then they do not seem to get that I did not have my money for 2 months and I did not get my book and how it would anger me.
Amazon for sure needs a way for customers to block individual third party vendors.

 

For Canadians, it was a mail strike. So a number of vendors were/are holding shipments because their local post offices weren't accepting shipments here. Now we've got a backlog to clear up. Nothing has been settled but they've moved to rotating strikes so parts of the country will be hit at different times. Messy times.

 

Gregory Blaxland’s Destination Dunkirk now winging its way to me thanks to an early birthday prezzie from the wonderful Mrs Wobbler.

 

They’ve just been hit by a £21million fine for not hitting delivery targets, incredible as that sounds.

Doubtless that’ll be duly passed on to Joe Public as per.

 

I think it's all piling up in Swindon. Something to do with Owen I think .
(I'm not sure he can ban me now even if he wanted to!).
