Medjez el Bab: Remembrance week

I will be at the Medjez el Bab CWGC cemetery next week. If anybody has any requests for specific graves to photograph or for me to lay a poppy, please direct message me with name/row/number. Thanks.

Just sent you a message - my interest is a cousin of ours, Jonathan Thorburn Lindsay, a Lieutenant in 6 Black Watch, seriously wounded in a bayonet charge at Sidi Medienne on 26/4/43 and died of his wounds on 1/5/43. His grave is at 16.A.9. His older brother, Robert, a Lieutenant with 2 Royal Scots Fusiliers, was killed two and a half months later in Sicily.

All and any photos gratefully received - I’ll have another look at the details of the battle to see if I can pinpoint any specific locations. You’ll know more about it in any case, I’m sure.

Another excellent Service at CWGC Medjez el Bab cemetery last Sunday, organised by the British Embassy and CWGC in-country staff. I was very pleased to attend and to get some photographs on behalf of some Forum members. FYI, it is very easy and cheap to get to Tunisia that time of year and there were some people attending who were there on a weekend visit from UK. Flights are under £200 return from London to Tunis.
