    Hi,
I am trying to date a sepia sketch of my father drawn by an Italian POW
(artist not named) My father is drawn in uniform and wearing 3, possibly 4 medal ribbons. The uniform and ribbon detail are a little indistinct so difficult to be sure. Significantly I think is the '8' shown on the Africa star and I wonder if there is an actual date which would pin point possibly the earliest date that would include the 8th. army clasp or if the date were all 3 or 4 Stars ribbons would be worn on the uniform.
He received 6 medals in total;1939-45 Star, Africa Star, Italy Star, France & Germany Star, Defence Medal & War Medal 1939-45 He was a Sgt. in the 127 Fd. RA 51st. HD
I will include a poor photograph of the sketch but this is not too clear. The original is framed and I'm not sure it would help with any identity.
