What would be the proper combination of sleeve badges during the Normandy campaign?

Variety of choices for the shoulder flash titles:

Below the shoulder title would be the formation patch. I find only two options, either the basic blue diamond or with the added monogram of 12 D.

  2. My father was in the 12th Manitoba Dragoons. Are you aware of their museum in Brandon Manitoba. Museum Welcome ~ Site Map (12mbdragoons.com). They could likely help you if you haven't got the answers by now. I believe that the Royal Canadian Dragoons is a separate Regiment from the 12th Manitoba Dragoons. I think the Royal Cdn Dragoons were based in British Columbia, however, I'm far from an expert.

You're quite right, Kathie - both units were armoured car regiments, but RCD was from British Columbia and spent most of their active service during the war in Italy.
