Mysteriet Malcolm Munthe - Churchills agent i Norden is the title of a biography I have written about this SOE agent/operator, who was a pioneer at the Stockholm office 1940-41, using AMA in the British Legation as cover. After forced to leave Sweden in July 1941 he worked at SOE HQ Norwegian sector with CD Sir Charles Hambro as his mentor. Munthe was involved in preparations for Op Gunnerside 1942-43, before he left for the field in Italy, where he operated behind enemy lines and got seriously wounded by German fire.
The first edition, published by Lind & Co in October 2020, is sold out. I hope for a new edition and perhaps a translation into English. In this connection I am trying to find substance in reports that Malcolm Munthe was involved in organizing of Stay Behind-groups in Scandinavia at the end of WW2. In April 1947 he resigned from MI6/SIS (!) due to his health conditions after the wounds in Italy.
Anybody out there who could help me !?

Curious item, although not a special interest, most information on "stay behind" networks comes under the banner of Project / Operation Gladio and that started - under NATO / WEU auspices - in 1956. See: Operation Gladio - Wikipedia
