I am waiting fo this military records, as suggested by really helpful members here, to fully confirm it is him but all things tie up, and it is his signature on the tankard! Sadly I have no info to share as he never ever talked about his experiences and died young on return. Julie

Just to clarify, having got army records, that it was my grandfathers signature ! Bertram "Harry" Barber.
