While reading " The Battle File" by Sidney Shail, I came across this mention: Also working under the auspices of the AASF was the curious "M" Balloon Unit. Its function was to release small balloons carrying propaganda leaflets towards Germany. The leaflets were released by the action of a burning fuse .
