Welcome aboard. Translated most of the text:

I've been reviewing a U.S. Signal Corps film sequence shot by Captain Oren W. Haglund near Pilsen, Czechoslovakia, in May 1945. It shows a surrendering German column.

A Luftwaffe officer stands out: he's wearing sunglasses and heavy facial bandages. The shoulder boards on his neck resemble those of an Oberleutnant, but the shoulder board is unusual. Interestingly, he appears to be acting as an interpreter between an American colonel and a senior Heer officer during the surrender, placing himself directly between them.

This reel is the same one that includes the so-called "lost SS girl."

Has anyone seen attempts to identify this officer or found him in photographs or records?

    Research id'd date as 6/5/1945. From: https://www.pametnaroda.cz/cs/system/files?file=2023-04/1.pdf

There is a 2hr plus original film, alongside a set of photos of German vehicles and troops who had or were going to surrender: Archive1944-1945-US Signal Corps colour film taken in Germany and Czechoslovakia, May 1945 The film and photos do not include the German officers shown above.

The specific clip can be found on YouTube under the title German Wehrmacht driving in to surrender near Prague (1945).
The Luftwaffe officer I am trying to identify appears at 04:57.

This footage was filmed by U.S. Army Captain Oren W. Haglund in the Pilsen area, May 1945.
Even if this scene does not appear in the longer compilation film some of you mentioned, it is part of Haglund’s material.

In this sequence, the officer seems to act as an interpreter between a U.S. Colonel and a Heer senior officer during the surrender negotiations.

Excellent footage. I tried to find out who the Luftwaffe officer is. No luck so far.
