    Hi Erik,

Feel free to drop me a pm, have been trying to get in contact with other Phantom descendants.

Will look through my files to see what references I have, if any.

That's a Royal Corps of Signals service number Erik, which would tie in with Phantom.

    Kind regards, always,

    Jim.

From those I would guess your man is
    George Denver Church
    1915–1998
    BIRTH 13 AUG 1915 • Bedwellty, Monmouthshire
DEATH 1998 • Birmingham, West Midlands

Letters he sent home reflect the Monmouthshire connection and the address for himself is Hall Green a suburb of Birmingham

    Wow TD,

Thats some nice results you have found! That will save me some hours behind the screen... Thanks! I guess I can (since I am pretty sure he has deceased) do a request for his military record I presume. Thanks again, I'll try to look further into it and search for possible childeren/offspring.

If you feel you need his service records then the forms are here Request records of deceased service personnel they will cost £30 plus the cost of a copy death certificate - details as in post 8

If you can bear with me for a little while I will try and contact the creators of the family trees with George Denver in them to see what the situation is with them and how close they are in terms of relations, sometimes they are distant cousins sometimes direct, until the question is asked we dont know

I have messaged a tree creator to ascertain their relationship with George Denver.

It could be that there were 2 offspring from his marriage to Phyllis which leads on to 5 possible grandchildren but lets wait and see what happens

    Hi Erik,

Sorry for the massive delay, however, I can't find anything in my records for a Lt Church being in Phantom.

Only 3x Patrols landed on D-Day (Capt Hart, Lt Salter, Lt Balfour-Paul), all with "A" Sqdn. The rest of the squadron landed on the 8th.

I do have a reference to a Signalman Church with "A" Squadron on the 10th of July 1944 through to at least December 1944.
I don't have much in the way of OR lists prior to D-Day
    Maybe he resigned his commission?
