Anyone come across any Vietnam War forums similar to this one? Especially one where veterans contribute - can't seem to find any!

    Your input appreciated.

  3. Difficult to find currently, I was a member of a great one not that long ago where the the membership was over 5,000 and of them 1,000+ were vets.

Unfortunately the site was hacked by members of a certain country :( and all the data was lost due to lack of backups, it never did come back up again.

    It was at http://thenam.com/

Thanks for that - shame it never came back, as it sounded great and just what I was looking for! Given how many VN vets must be inter-savvy, seems amazing there isn't anything!

Nearly eight years since this initial post. No forum that I could see.

It would appear that a lot of these forums that were around when these threads were initially opened are gone now. But I've no doubt that there is a thriving online community relating to the Vietnam conflict

There used to be more than a dozen sites dedicated Vietnam Veterans. Most have gone by the wayside due to lack of funding and failure to pay Internet fees.

I enjoy being able to share tidbits of my life in Vietnam compared to my big Brothers-in-arms as they regale their exploits in WW2, Korea and the like. We have little brothers-in-arms who served in the Gulf Wars, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan. Some of what is related is not so good (war never is); others are cherished memories that are meant to be shared, and I look forward to hearing them.

Most of the Vietnam forums are associated with other social medial sites such as Multiply.com. Lately, there hasn't been much traffic other than notices about reunions I'm unlikely to attend due to difficulty in arranging travel over great distances (14+ hours by air).
