Hello, Among a plethora of charming and wonderful stores of his time in Germany, my dad has spoken many times about a couple of memorable comrades from his time carrying out National Service (post WW2 in Fallingbostel (1951-1953)) with the Queen's Bays 2nd Dragoon Guards. He's approaching 90 and I would really like to reunite him with them on this special occasion. I realise this is a long shot, but If anyone can help or point me in the right direction, I would be incredibly grateful. I have tried Forces War Records and The National Archives but nothing came up when I searched. Here is the information I have on the 3 men including my dad, thanks. Hugh Gornall (from Lancashire) T Storer 'Wag' (from Leicester) Ken Norbury (from London)
I have found a few bits and pieces you might be interested in - Although, I hesitate in posting this information publicly as at least one of these men may still be alive. It may be best to do this privately.
Thank-you!! I'm new to this forum - what's the best way to contact privately? Is there a message function?
Private messaging on can be done where it says "start a conversation" on a members profile but you can't do that until you have made 5 posts.
Thank-you for explaining - I thought it was strange I had an inbox but couldn't see any message functionality.
Hi EmpireUmpire , I never heard back regarding the above info a while back - did you receive my message ok?
