    Hi all,
I seem to be getting logged out of my account whenever I leave WW2Talk. Everytime I come to the homepage, I login, tick the box saying 'Stay logged in', but whenever I close the tab, returning even ten mins later necessitates logging in again. I've checked my browser (Chrome) and can't see anything that could be causing this. Is anyone else experiencing it? Or is it something at my end?
    Cheers,
    Steve

Somewhat inevitably, testing it again after posting this, it's not happening...

'Sod's Law' I think. Usual suggestions often things like clearing cache and such. Dumping Google's Chrome might also be a good idea.

As per Blutto's comment - the usual answer is clearing cache/cookies.
There doesn't seem to be anything flagged under server errors.

Local browser &/or security settings can cause it too, but if you're only getting it here, then most likely a corrupted cookie.

My account has been doing this for almost two months and I have tried all of the suggestions and some additional ones.

The issue exists across multiple platforms for me, so I am not convinced it is a local issue for me.

I get it on 2F intermittently, but not here.

  7. I had the same problem, but clearing the cookies solved it :D.

    Thanks for the tip!

Today although I am Logged In, when I move to recent posts I am suddenly logged out.
If I go back to new posts I am Logged In.
I have deleted cookies etc and closed the forum and Edge. However when I log in the same thing is happening.
    Any ideas?

Had this happen a couple of times to me yesterday morning but it seemed to clear itself. No cookie clearing on my part, just one of dem fings I think, for me anyway.

I'll run all the forum resets & auto-cleans I can this evening, Diane.
It's usually some browser glitch that does that, but not universally. I'm constantly logged out on 2F.

(Don't suppose you were using Edge too, Wobbler?)

I Always log out from every posting, then log back in again for the next. Paranoia maybe but I was always taught to shut the door when I went out.
Can I make several postings anywhere on the forum then log out once at the end without allowing intruders in?
    Never considered that.

    Uncle Target,

Yes, I usually log in and post a few times. Then log out, though sometimes I'm here for a couple of hours.

David, "sometimes I'm here for a couple of hours"

Is that all, it often takes me that long to type a comment.

    Thanks for the advice.

I just had to look up what Edge was, that’s how little I know.

I use Safari, basically just cos that’s the default on my iPad and, if I start tampering with things, with my luck it’ll probably self destruct.

Hi despite rebooting, talking nice to my laptop then threatening to throw it out the window, I still have the same problem.

Had similar issues but a cookie clear sorted it. Now happily logged on indefinitely!

Hi, I clear cookies on a regular basis. The only thing I have done in the last week or so is a defrag and disc clean up. Perhaps I should have left well alone. What is it they say "If it ain't broke don't fix it"
    Cheers
