I'm doing some research on the 206th Minesweeping Flotilla in June/July 1944. They were operating in the Seine Bay and at the clearance of Cherbourg harbour as part of the Western Task Force during that time. The Red List Minor Vessels in Home Waters book for May – June 1944 per TNA Reference: ADM 208/25 notes that all 10 MMS in the 206th Minesweeping Flotilla were carrying a Liaison Officer (L Prefix). Can anyone provide any further details on these officers.

I have attached a crew list of HMMMS-1019 from 206th Minesweeping Flotilla which was sunk by a mine on 2 July 1944 off Cherbourg for information.

Hugh MacLean There were 22 crew members listed on the above casualty list, does this equate to the normal complement on a Motor Minesweeper (MMS).
