Re medals Have some fun - Military awards and decorations of the United Kingdom - Wikipedia it shows the ribbons and also gives the order of wear - which I think shows the photo above is 180 degrees out TD

Thanks .. The reds in the band are much faded now but I think I have worked out most of it & assume it will make more sense when the medals arrive! Yellow band to the right has me most perplexed but I'm assuming it's for The General Service medal. I assume that these ribbons are presented/sent post war??
The person had to request them - my fathers I requested in 2000. They will also come un named, if you find a good medal shop then they will (assuming you give them the information) mark the rim with name, rank, number & regiment. They will also (I cannot remember if the ribbon comes with the medal) provide, if needed, the ribbon, fit that ribbon and give you a box - or at least the guys I used did all that, this is their link as an example for you - Worcestershire Medal Service: Home Page TD
Many thanks TD. I have ID'd most of the ribbon bar apart from the last on the right (of the now correctly 180 degree rotated version). Can anyone help me with that as it sure isn't the GSM ribbon?
RCG. This is super work - many thanks. Can you identify how long my dad was on duty in The Palestine? I guess my next step is to request his Company records, as he did a lot of moving about on his Palestinian duty .. including Egypt, Libya, Bethlehem & The Suez. I understand from my eldest brother (it's amazing what creeps out when you start researching) that he had a particularly tough time in Libya when they were caught out by one of Rommels' push-back attempts!
Can you identify how long my dad was on duty in The Palestine? No you can only say when the soldiers changed to a different area of command. SOS CMF to MEF 18/2/45. And when they left a command Embarked from Me to UK (Release) and SOS MELF 6/12/46. Times and places they were at would be in the regimental dairies.
