Irene Rebecca Moss born 1920 Bedwellty S Wales who married George Green I posted about earlier today (july 1942).
Our family were not aware that my g-aunt had served in the airforce as we thought she was a nurse. Her final years were spent in Cheshire but I have not been able to make any contact with her family - she later married a Bailey. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find out more please? She was possibly stationed where 103 squadron were based assuming she met her husband at work. Thank you

Thank you I have never seen a photo of this lady and would like to know so much more. I will try and get her record.

The service records do not usually contain a photo although rarely one is included so you might be lucky

No 103 Squadron Association has a fine website and while probably not providing the information required is a valuable source of information of the squadron and its offspring, No 576 Squadron.

At the south west corner of the airfield is the Anglian Water water treatment plant and offices. In the grounds there are many mementoes of the two squadrons. A very interesting tour of the garden which is dedicated to the two squadrons

    103 Squadron RAF - History from September 1917 to August 1975 - WW1 - WW2 - Noli me Tangere

Sgt George Green is remembered in the Squadron's Roll of Honour (Page 30) which includes the fate of the crew.

Thank you I found out quite a bit about his last hours today on a Belgian remembers site plus a 103 website which was amazing.
