I'm looking for info on the use of these craft in Holland in 1945. This and other IWM pics were taken in South-Beveland (Holland) at the beginning of 1945. Apparently 12 vessels commanded by A.D.G. Sharp were part of some Royal Marine Combined Operation. There were a number of LCS (M), a Fairmile B ML Q903 and LCT 2423.

edit: judging from the leaves on the trees and the the men in shirtsleeves it must have been spring already.

I think I have found the answer myself, there are also IWM pics allegedly showing Royal Marine Commandos during a mission at the river Maas. I think the description may be wrong and I suspect the mission was rather the liberation of Schouwen-Duiveland (may 1945).

It would also make sense that several LCS(M) were present in the Wemeldinge locks before or after the liberation of Schouwen-Duiveland.

Your first photograph (A 28452) was apparently taken in May 1945:

A landing craft support (medium) (LCS 202 also named as Margaret II) in South West Holland. These craft of Force T, manned by Royal Marines, have been joining night patrols against midget submarines and explosive motorboat attacks from the German-held island of Schouwen,

and the second (A 28405) in April 1945:

Marines embarking in their assault craft for the crossing of the Maas.

More from both series are available: https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/...on&filters[periodString][Second+World+War]=on

Thanks Richelieu, so I take it that there is no connection between these two pics apart from the involvement of Royal Marines.

I would be very interested in some line drawings of the LCS(M) Mk 3. For those interested, some of the Wemeldinge pics from the Zeeuws Archief. Unfortunately, the quality of the pics is very poor :

Many thanks ! With this drawing I should be able to modify my old French 1/35 LCA kit. I have got some highly detailed LCA line drawings.
