On this raid,No 75 Squadron RNAF,lost 7 Lancasters which was a high proportion of their strength, even if they put up 18 aircraft for the raid. They may have put up less.

Aircrew losses for the squadron were 41 dead,7 survived as POWs and 1 evaded. It would have taken a week or possibily a fortnight to post in replacements and get up to aircrew strength once more. These aircrew would have come from OCUs having no operations experience plus others possibily posted in from the flights of experienced squadrons.

A superb website to a gallant crew of Bomber Command
