Anyone know which Lines of Communication Polachi near Cochin in south western India would have come under in 1945? Part of Operation Zipper I think.

Hi only saw this today. My records show the following set up as of May 1944
NB: Pollachi is the name in Google Earth - may have been Polachi in WW2

105 L of C Area (H.Q. Bangalore) with under command:
    161 L of C Sub-Area (Cochin)
    162 L of C Sub-Area (Trichinopoly)
    163 L of C Sub-Area (Coimbatore)
    164 L of C Sub-Area (Madras Port & Fortress Area)
    168 L of C Sub-Area (Vizagapatam)

I think Coimbatore is nearer for Pollachi so I think it was 162 L of C Sub-Area

Many thanks for that Rob. Now armed with that information I can (hopefully) start a new phase of research about my father.
