I would be interested to know if the War Memorial at Kingsdown bears the name of Second World War Royal Engineers Officer: ALFRED TOM BRIDGES He died on 18th February 1942 and is buried in the churchyard at BRUNDALL (Norfolk) with a CWGC stone. I know that R.E.s were based in Brundall during the war and it would be nice to know whether he is commemorated at his home. Any other information about him and the circumstances of his death wold be much appreciated.
I've PMed you Chris but which Kingsdown? I've tried googling. Kingsdown here in Swindon & another at Corsham so far. No luck with locating yer man.
