Hi is there anyone that can help me, I am looking into my grandfathers military history, can anyone tell me what King's regulations para 204(6)c stands for please? also, he was in both world war conflicts and has 2 different service/army numbers, is this normal?
I've had a look and cant see Para 204(6)c - when does the entry relate to? does it say which years KR's as there were a few? I've checked 1912, 1935 & 1940 WW1 soldiers had Regimental numbers so there were lots of duplications , in the early 20's they went to Army Numbers so each number was only used once. Alistair
my grandfather served in both wars, and he ended up with 3 different numbers. One Regtl number for WW1 and then an Army Number was issued in the 1920s whilst he was still in the Reserves. He clearly didn't know about that when he re-enlisted in 1939 and so was issued a second Army Number. Records offices were instructed that once a second Army number was issued for whatever reason, they should stick with that one.
