Thank you to the forum member that took the time to put all the war diaries images(236) of the above battalion onto photobucket. Myself and members of the family have found them invaluable and we now know more about my grandfather , Robert Charles ( Charlie) Cheeseman who sailed in the SS Cheshire as part of a convey from Tilbury and round the North Kent Coast and landed on Juno on June 7th D day +1 with C Company. The appendices at the end of the war diaries contains two moving and detailed accounts of soldiers in C company, one sailing on the Cheshire and the other on the Lancashire which landed on the evening of June 6th. This together with references to C company in the war diaries for the month of June and has made my elderly father very happy . We hadn't up to now been able to find any references to C company. My father has also asked if anyone has a photo of C company by any chance.
