    A BERLIN HOUSEWIFE

There is keen competition among housewives to do laundering for soldiers, who pay in cigarettes or chocolate. Frau Kepplin is seen accepting a bundle of clothing from a British soldier [AFPU Sergeant] 27th August 1945

Nb. There is a "Roy Parkinson" - born 1916 - who would have been c28 in 1944...

Roy Parkinson | Production Manager, Second Unit Director or Assistant Director, Producer

Roy Parkinson was born on 22 January 1916 in Surbiton, Surrey, England, UK. He was a production manager and assistant director, known for Lifeforce (1985), Bluebeard's Ten Honeymoons (1960) and Mogambo (1953). He was married to Eileen Edith A. McCabe and Eileen Edith A. Parkinson. He died in 2007 in Watford, England.
    Born - January 22, 1916. Died - 2007

He gave a lengthy interview here -

The British Entertainment History Project | Roy Parkinson |

Although it mentions his "war service" it seems - oddly enough - to be largely skipped over and pretty much ignored in the transcript so it's next to impossible - currently - to tell if they are both the same individual.

If there is a photo of him - it might - perhaps be possible to compare it to the AFPU's "Roy Parkinson".

    Cine Cameraman

Any idea on who the cameraman seen to right in attached pic might be? Seen here leaving a Higgens boat on returning to west bank of Rhine on March 25th during Churchill's Rhine tour. Sgt. Alan Taylor?

Not sure, but unusual as he is wearing his AFPU badge on his shoulder strap (epaulette).

    Yo,

Not sure, this could be Taylor from a group photo.

Any ideas on who this older chap might be that I believe was with Gaument News Reels.

Its Sgt. Morris, you can see him behind Montgomery on the Buffalo during the crossing. He was attached to Montgomery's H.Q. in the days leading up to Op. Plunder.

Yes very likely. I also thought of Sgt Midgley for the chap to rear of Buffalo who was on assignment that day of the tour as well. Wonder who the photographer was that followed nearby in another craft.

    Great find on Kenneth Gordon!

Screenshot 2025-02-19 at 12.57.46.png Midgley was originally Royal Armoured Corps and wore the black beret.
Morris was Royal Engineers (cap badge) and you can clearly see his insignia on his epaulette and he doesn't have the black beret.

    Others

Found a clearer version of same pic which I cropped. There could be a third cameraman to left of Montgomery.

    Some info on following photo:

    Hi,

Would anyone know of a cameraman Sherwood (AFPU or Naval)?
