    Thanks for comments everyone.
    I think the originals deserved a bit of effort though it's a pity I couldn't take the Now shots at the actual location.

    I hope more photographic records of this type get better a profile on the internet.

    My favorite topic :D

    I live in one of the streets on these pictures. Last year I published a book about Aalst during the war and the liberation by the Irish Guards is discussed in it aswell.
    An local artist was there when these pictures were taken and he made many sketches in his sketchbook which can be directly linked to the pictures of Mr. van der Poll.

    We have an foundation which collects, preserves and educates about the war in Valkenswaard, Aalst and Waalre.
