Hi there, my name is Jaap Jansen, I served in the Royal Netherlands Air Force for over 40 years. Now that I'm retired I adopted the grave of a British soldier who was killed in action during WW II and subsequently laid to rest here in the village of Venray in the Netherlands.
I'm hoping to find here information on his background and life prior to his death.
His name was Eatherington, John Harold. He served in the Lincolnshire Regiment, 4th Bn and fell at the age of 25.

I know Buteman has a lot of info on the Lincolns.
Eatherington's name in the enlistment book here.

Thanks once more. Useful information. Do you by any chance know whether John was married?

Thanks for your support. If I may ask where do you get all the information from? I've spent several hours searching the Internet but received hardly any returns w.r.t. the name Eatherington.

    Greetz,

    Jaap
