Hello, looks like I'm the newest new guy...
Am researching information on the 1108th Engineer Combat Group, formed at Camp Gruber, OK then deployed to Africa, Sicily and into the Italian Campaign.

There's actually a pretty good book called "We the 48th" that detailed the exploits of the 48th Engineer Combat Battalion, one of the battalions in the 1108th. Seems it's hard to find these days.

Anyway, looking forward to hearing from anyone who is knowledgeable about the 1108th, 48th and/or 235th.

    Cheers

    Welcome Norm.

Norm……did you want information on the 1108th Engineer Combat Group in total or specifically one of its Battalions. I’m seeing some information on “fold3.com’ and can post what I find or give you a link

Fold3.com is a subscription based site (owned by Ancestry.com) so if you happened to have a Ancestry subscription you fold3.com subscription is a “lot less”

So let us know how you want to proceed and I can starting posting info……AND if you want to have specific info on one of the Battalions AND a certain time period, again let me know and I’ll give you a hand

    Cheers

Follow up……I took a Quick Look at fold3.com…..and there is information, but it might be a lot. Here’s a copy of pages for you to see. The second page is when the Group was part of the IV Corps

The first page there, 80, is that 1108th or 1106th you reckon? I’m not sure.
