Thanks in advance for your help.

Attached is my Maternal Grandfather's recommendation for his MM.

I am curious as to where Sun & Diamond routes were and if there are any more details relating to the MR (Map References).

    Kind regards

    Mark.

Try a search for Sun route el alamein map and "sun route" + "el alamein". On a quick glance the answer is there, though not a map!

The Australian OH refers to them as tracks. Map on p.657 from Tobruk and El Alamein. Sun is the northern most route.

If you go to the online copy of that volume, Chapter 14 pp.649–650 describes Diamond, but the route is not depicted on any maps.

Chapter 14 Chapter 14 – Launching the Battle Just download the .pdf

The map I scanned is also in that chapter.

From your information Diamond Route / Track is included on page 33 of the PDF, cannot thank you enough. It's just below the middle of the map.

Your are correct. I missed that when I looked at that map. I think when I looked at that map, I read the arrows to show a general line of movement and not a specific route/road. Hence I didn't look closely at the labels. My bad.
