Information on 83rd Field Regiment Required

    Hi guys new on here
    Has anyone got any information on this regiment, they were part of the 53rd Welsh division. Was hoping for information on the regiment and actions they had fought in

    thanks very much for your quick reply, funny you should mention the book i ordered it yesterday so will have a look through. trying to find out some information on my great uncle who was killed.

    Why not post his details here and then we might be able to help a little more?

    There is also a Patrick Delaforce book about the 53rd, but it is hard to obtain for some reason. A little more on 53rd here:

    Tony - from his number it would appear that he was in a reserved occupation until he was called up in 1943 - then killed in 1944 at age 35 - was there afamily left /

    No there was no family as far as im aware it was my dads uncle strugerling to find any information at all
