I am trying to find out information on the activities of the 5th Battalion, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers during the war. It's my understanding that this battalion remained in Britain throughout the war and never served overseas, but served as a Home defence formation. Would anyone have any information as to what these activities would have entailed? I have been unsuccessful so far in finding accounts etc. The battalion was attached to the 144th Brigade in the 48th Infantry Division.
War diaries probably best bet for the most detail: https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/results/r?_ep=5%20royal%20inniskilling%20fusiliers&_dss=range&_ro=any&_st=adv
