pows scot.jpg pow back.jpg Cheers for posting.

Pic 1 looks like 1 QOCH's being that some are wearing kilts. If they are and the others are French I wonder if that is near La Bassee.

Can you make out the sign on the building in Pic2? I'm wondering if its a Street Sign.

pic 1 see photo more info. Cambrai ?.
pic 2 Cherbourg / Rouen ? See back of photo.
pic 3 is the front with street sign.

I have put the photo back on as there is more info on back of this photo, my German is not good. The German with the bike has a cap badge, could it be a Alpine unit?. Original photos from my collection

those NCOs with darker chevrons indicate they are either a Rifle regment or a Light infantry.
As I dont think RB or KRRC were in Norway, that leaves either 1st or 1/4th Bns of KOYLI.

    It reads
Die ersten englischen Gefangenen in Maa...rich am 12.5.1940
The first English prisoners in Maa...rich [I have trouble deciphering that, but I'd go for 'Maastrich' or similar] on 12 May, 1940.

I've come to tis thread rather late and I don't know who the leutenant is but I'm fairly sure that the senior German officer in the General Victor Fortune pic is one Erwin Rommel.
