Doesn't help with the incident but ... There is a 1939 Register entry for John E Buckler dob 17 Jan 1901, he is living at 110 Barons Court Road, Fulham, with Ruby M Buckler, dob 22 Oct 1900. The birth is registered in Chiswick district. There is a RAF service record for John Buckler, with the same dob, born in Chiswick, service number 297367. He was engaged on 21 September 1918 for 'DW', duration of war. Father is Charles which ties up with other records. Can't find any newspapers on the death but that is not unusual for war incidents in UK.

thank you mate much appreciated rather wrongly I had visions of another high jinx moment going wrong from aircraft based at Northolt Civilian Casualty :Eric Simister 20-7-1941 Northwood Golf Course regards Clive
Ah yes . I remember reading the tragic tale of Eric Simster. Also throws up Home Guard active as airfield defence rather than RAF personel.
