    Hello All,

Having visited Alan Kettley a few weeks back he told me who is second pilot was at Arnhem.. Staff Sergeant Hodges I can't find out that much about him and he is one of the 82 missing names in Mike Peters book as well.. I wonder if some of you good poeple could give me more information so that I can pass it onto Alan...

    Cheers
    Tom

I have just joined this group and am Alan Kettley's daughter. I am fairly sure he said Staff Sergeant Hodges was killed when a building they were in was blown up. This was some years ago and his memory does fluctuate though.

According to the RoH S/Sgt Kenneth S Hodges Died 11.3.1945 whilst on his way from Stalag IXB to a POW Hospital. He is buried at Durnbach War Cemetery, Germany 3.D.9.

Thanks John. I will tell my Dad. As I said, his memory is not always reliable.

I provided your Father with copies of his Escape and Evasion reports a couple of years ago when I visited him to talk about his time with IS9. In that report he talks about finding a Sgt Hodge in the RAP near the church on 21st September, he was not badly wounded.

I hope that your Father has shown you copies of those reports. General Urquhart specifically requested that copies of the reports from both your Father and Leo Heaps be sent to him. The comments from the Interrogating Officer about your Father's role are most complimentary.

Please give your Father my best wishes

    John

There's only one 'Hodges' on our RoH for Arnhem; he was 'KS' and flew with Sgt Ogden. He is on Peters and Buist's list.
