HMIS Lady Craddock

Discussion in 'The War at Sea' started by William H Reed, Sep 30, 2026.

  1. I am trying to determine the basic where built, when built and particulars(dimensions, etc) for the trawler
Lady Craddock. She was a Government of Burma Trawler (80 tons) that was taken into the Indian Navy in 1939.
She was lost due to a " severe cyclone wave of thirty feet height while at anchor at Diamond Harbour in River Hooghly" on October 16, 1942.

I have not been particularly successful in finding information on the vessel itself. I have found some information in Report on the Administration of Burma for the year 1926-1927 and later years as well as in the "Royal Indian Navy 1939-1945"
    Suggestions?

  4. Thank you for the replies.

It's just frustrating to have a loss with so little information that I have been able to find.

I know that it was a trawler built before 1926 and in service for the Burma government.
